Roosevelt and Ajo photograph albums, ca. 1905-1920.

Summary: Two photograph albums; one is from Roosevelt, Arizona and the building of the dam, ca. 1905, and the other is from Ajo, Arizona and the New Cornelia Copper Company, ca. 1914-1921. The Roosevelt album includes images of a large American flag, the town of Roosevelt, meal stations where horses were changed between Mesa and Roosevelt (one labeled "Restaurant", the other at Mormon Flats), the Mesa-Roosevelt stage wagon, the Salt River foot bridge, an open-air automobile with three rows of seats, the cement mill, and images of the dam site. The Ajo album has many views of the New Cornelia Copper Company operations including loading ore on railroad cards, blasting, laying track, and interiors and exteriors of mine buildings. There are photographs taken by Hadsell of a July 4th celebration with boxing, pie eating, and foot races, and a visit by Tucson Chamber of Commerce dignitaries in open rail cars, ca. 1918. A few photos show an early airplane crash with the plane upside on the ground. There are also image sof Ajo's first schoolhouse and students, the railroad station, plaza, hospital, homes and home construction as well as groups of boys and girls; the boys in military-type uniform, the girls in Red Cross-type uniforms.
